Abbey Plus MSM

A naturally occurring odourless source of bio-available sulphur for horses, in oral form to supplement diets where levels may be low. Sulphur plays an essential role in metabolism and protein synthesis.

Active ingredient: 999.9 gms per kg of ultra pure Methylsulphonylmethane (MSM)

Suggested normal daily dose is only 1g per 450kg bodyweight as a maintenance dose for a horse in good condition. With any condition of tissue breakdown an increased dosage in required. The most commonly used increased dose rate for the adult horse is 12-15g twice daily in feed. A 10g measure is enclosed.

Higher doses may be required where diets are severely deficient or the animal is in heavy work.

Sulphur has an essential role in general metabolism and protein synthesis. It plays an important role in maintaining healthy hair, skin and hooves. It is also has an essential role in maintaining normal healthy joints.

The drying and processing of horse feeds considerably reduces or completely destroys MSM, a natural source of sulphur to the horse.

Research has shown, horses in work have increased tissue break down, therefore an adequate daily requirement of dietary sulphur is essential for rebuilding these tissues.

MSM provides an excellent source of sulphur in a readily available oral form.
