Equitak Excel is for the treatment and control of roundworms, tapeworms and bots in horses. It contains the unique 3-in-1 combination of active ingredients, Abamectin, Oxfendazole and Praziquantel. Abamectin, a member of the macrocyclic lactone chemical family and Oxfendazole, a member of the Benzimidazole family, are extremely effective broad spectrum wormers both acting in different ways to kill worms, where as Praziquantel specifically targets and kills tapeworms. By combining two totally different actives such as Abamectin and Oxfendazole, you lessen the chance of a resistant worm population developing.

This makes Equitak Excel an ideal rotation wormer and best used when seasonal conditions favour high worm pressure; typically during Autumn and Spring. By rotating with Equitak Excel, you will provide your horse with the best possible protection against worm burdens and reduce the risk of resistance development.

Equitak Excel will be effective against all major parasites including:

Tapeworms, Large strongyles, Small strongyles, Pinworms, Ascarids, Hairworms, Large mouthed stomach worm, Bots, Lungworms, and Intestinal threadworms.

Directions for Use

Dosage

1g of Equitak Excel per 20kg bodyweight. One syringe will treat a 600kg horse.

Set the correct dose by turning the plunger lock. Remove cap from syringe nozzle and insert into the side of the horse's mouth in the gap between the front and back teeth. Advance the syringe as far as possible into the mouth on top of the tongue and immediately raise the horse's head and hold for a few seconds to ensure the full dose is swallowed.

Repeat doses should be given every 6 - 8 weeks in young and more susceptible horses. Preferably, use faecal egg counts (FEC) to determine a suitable re-treatment interval. When using good control measures to reduce reinfestation, mature horses only require treatment 3 - 4 times per year.
