KelatoLyte Electrolyte Supplement [Size: 3kg]

KelatoLYTE is an advanced electrolyte replacer for performance horses, containing higher levels of the essential electrolytes lost in equine sweat. KelatoLYTE’s balanced formulation more closely mimics the actual composition of a horse’s sweat making it extremely effective at preventing poor performance due an electrolyte imbalance from sweat loss.

Why do I need it?
Electrolyte deficiencies/imbalances are associated with a large number of problems- including:

Did you know?
All horses sweat differently under differing work loads and climate conditions. KelatoLYTE’s feeding directions are subject to the amount of sweat lost, taking into account both the amount of work  and the climate.  This individual approach ensures you correctly replace electrolytes lost in sweat without wastage. The addition of glucose in the KelatoLYTE formulation improves the uptake of the essential electrolytes into the gut (stomach) to quickly help prevent dehydration.

A 500kg 2 year old thoroughbred in heavy work will need these electrolytes DAILY:
–  22 grams of Sodium
–  34 grams of Potassium
–  13 grams of Magnesium
–  58 grams of Chloride

Pastures (hay) in Australia have naturally high levels of potassium which covers one electrolyte. The others need to be replaced for your horse to perform.

Horses in Australia sweat year round and can suffer from any electrolyte deficiency at any stage of the year.

Ingredients:

–  Potassium 167.0 g/kg
–  Magnesium 16.9 g/kg
–  Chloride 484.8 g/kg
– Glucose 92.0 g/kg
KelatoLYTE contains no bicarbonates and does not contravene the rules of competition.

Directions:
Light sweating: 30g per day
Moderate sweating: 60g per day
Heavy sweating: 90g per day
Spelling horses in hot environments also require 30g per day.

For better absorption, the daily dose of KelatoLYTE should be split into two feeds. Always ensure a supply of clean, fresh water is available when using this product. DO NOT add KelatoLYTE to your horse’s water.
For use as an isotonic drench, mix 60g of KelatoLYTE in 5 Litres of water. Always consult with your veterinarian before using an electrolyte drench.
Electrolyte paste can also be formed by mixing 30g of KelatoLYTE with water or apple sauce. Electrolyte paste should not be used on dehydrated horses or those refusing to drink.
